The Legalization of Medical Cannabis in Texas

The Texas Compassionate Use Act, was enacted by the Texas Legislature in 2015. Under the authority of the Texas Health & Safety Codes, Chapter 487, through the DPS, which operates a secure online registry of qualified physicians who can prescribe low tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) to patients with specific medical conditions. The registry, called the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas (CURT), allows certified physicians to registering patients, giving patients access to dispensaries to verify patients of low-THC cannabis. DPS manages the licensing of organizations that dispense low-THC cannabis to patients in the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas (CURT).

Eligible Texans have access to medical cannabis through the CURT system. Medical use of these substances in Texas is limited to swallowing, not smoking, the prescribed low-dose THC/CBD. Dispensaries use the CURT system to search for the patient’s information before filling any related prescriptions.

If you would like for us to contact your doctor to request documentation for you - just include your doctor's contact information where requested on the form. We will review the documentation and reach out to you within 48 hours. Once these documents have been reviewed, we will schedule your virtual.. You will receive an email that includes a link to join the virtual telemedicine visit for your scheduled time.

We will contact your referring physician to request your medical records, at no additional cost. A credit card is required to schedule your appointment. Your card will not be charge until after the appointment. Cancellations must be made within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment or a $45 cancellation fee will be incurred.

About Your Virtual Evaluation Visit

You will receive an email that includes the time/date and a link that will take you to your virtual telemedicine visit.

During your initial telemedicine consultation, we will discuss your symptoms, determine your eligibility into the program and develop a personalized treatment plan.

Becoming a Member: As a member, you will meet with a team clinician every month. During your follow-up appointments, we ensure that you're getting the most benefit from your medical cannabis therapy. We will continue to monitor your progress and make adjusments to your treatment, as needed.

Your certification is renewed annually.

Your Prescription

You may select any medical dispensery in the state of Texas. However, we like to refer our patients to the Texas Original Compassion Cultativation "Texas Original" here's why:

Unlike traditional pharmacies, medical cannabis dispensaries must be notified by the patient that their prescriber has sent their prescription to them electronically. You will not receive a handwritten prescription. The presciber will send your prescription to the CURT system and the dispensary team to retrieve it and fill the prescription. Do not call the dispensary for a refill. Prescriptions are dispensed monthly. Follow-up visits are required on a monthly basis to evaluation progress or make any adjustments.
